Goodstein Family Reunion
Family Quilt
Dear Family,
Yes, we are done with family quilt 2003!!!!! It’s a beauty and our excitement has only
grown to continue to make the family quilt a yearly tradition. We are up for the challenge.
Just a reminder on the rules for 2004:
- No cousin or cousin-in-law is too distantly related to enter.
Woven fabric only.
- You can enter as many pieces as you like. However, you will only get as many tickets
as there are members in your household.
- Include a note with a few sentences about your fabric’s story. Be sure to include
your name. Geri is over 50 and will not remember who handed her cloth.
- You do NOT need to be present to win.
- Winners are required to submit a piece the following year although they are not eligible.
- The winner has to host a sleep under for the rest of the participants (Sharon doesn’t
want me to put in this rule so don’t invite her and she wont know. I want to come.)
- If you aren’t coming to Thanksgiving this year (you are missing a good time by
the way) just mail in your fabric with the note. (Geri Forkner, 566 Randolph Fridley Rd.,
Sweetwater, TN 37874)
Here is our challenge for next year’s quilt: Our first entry for 2004 is a pair of
Reb Hanukkah’s silk boxers. This put the idea of an all silk quilt in our heads. Are
you up for the challenge? Can this year’s entry be silk? Clothes are not necessarily
a requirement. Let’s see if we can make this happen. Even if you can’t find silk,
we still want your entry.
Be on the lookout for pictures of the family quilt 2003 on the Goodstein web page. (As soon
as I remember Paul Rubin’s directions.)
See you all soon. Love,
Sharon and Geri
